ROUND LAKE HEIGHTS, IL - Local community radio station WRLR 98.3 FM, which reaches much of western Lake County will be broadcasting live, for the first time, from the Lake County Fair (July 25-30 at Route 45 and Route 120 in Grayslake, IL) and from Round Lake's Streets of Summer Fest (July 28-30 at Hart Road and Cedar Lake Road in Round Lake, IL).
On air talent and other staff members will be at both locations to meet the public and invite them to spin WRLR's Winners Wheel. Prizes will include free amusement ride tickets, WRLR t-shirts, and Host an Hour, where winners will get the opportunity to be stars themselves as they guest host a one hour show from the WRLR studio A, introducing their favorite music.
Programming will feature reports and interviews from the fair and fest grounds, and bite size portions of WRLR programming. WRLR's weekend dance program, Club Mix hosted by DJ Mike B, will be thumbing the fair grounds with their unique blend of sounds that will have even the livestock dancing in step. At his side will be an abundant talent in the form of DJ Illusion, DJ Flashback, DJ Jam, DJ Snag and DJ Breezy, to name just a few.
There are plans to carry vocal portions of the fair's junior, senior and adult talent shows.
Broadcasting will alternate between the fair and fest at various times during the course of both events. The station will accomplish the dual remotes using a combination of Internet and Marti wireless feeds to the studio. The Internet feeds have been used with success last year, providing CD quality sound for high school basketball and football coverage.
The fair and fest remotes, as with all regular programming, will be streamed from the station's website at: www.wrlr.fm
Major sponsors making the WRLR remotes possible are: Lake County Fair Association, Village of Round Lake; Magee, Negele & Associates; Skinner Amusements; RentCom; Bristol Renaissance Faire.
