<description>Well, it's been a while since I have entered a blog entry. Now seems as good a time as any to provide an update...

Kristin Hagen is now cohost of the show. This happened in January of this year and she is a welcome addition! Kristin provides the segment: "Reality Trash Talk" at 8pm, which provides info regarding the reality based tv shows that are currently on the airwaves. We moved the 4x4 (Four by the Fab Four up to 8:30pm. This freed up the last half hour of the show to either continue the theme of the evening, or to do a countdown of the top hits when our theme is a particular year.

Speaking of themes, we have a few good shows coming up we hope you will tune in for:

11/09 - Rockabilly Buddies
11/16 - Home Cookin' (Songs featuring home, family or food)
11/23 - Thanksgiving Special (All request, dedications, etc.)

Of course after that we will have our four Christmas shows, featuring some great "forgotten" holiday songs, well as old favorites, and Lil' Elvis will be joining us. Tune in for the fun from 7pm - 9:30pm on Monday Nights!

<description>07/09/07 - All Request Night Tonight!

It has been a busy week! Eric Michaels (a.k.a. - Paul McCartney from American English) joined us on the air for a great interview during our Summer Spectacular on 07/02. AE performed at Round Lake Beachfest last night and they did not disappoint! Great show! The World Famous Calie Ramone (host of Radioblast Tuesday nights, on WRLR) was in attendance and gave it the "thumbs up". For those of you who missed the AE interview, we will be posting the interview on the WRLR website in the next few days. We will send an update when it has been posted...

WRLR particpated in the Avon Township 4th of July parade. The Rock N Roll GUITARZ mobile was rolling along with candy for the masses. It was a lot of fun and it was great to see everyone along the route. More people listen to the station than we realize and we certainly appreciate all the support...

WRLR had a booth at Beachfest over the weekend and the event was a great success. Next year we will try to order a little cooler weather, though...

Tonight is All Request Night on Rock and Roll Revival. Consider us your jukebox as you can either send an email (either in advance or during the show) with your requests to rocknroll@wrlr.fm or you can call the studio request line at 847-546-9757. We have a three hour show to fill, so send us your setlist and we will try to accommodate as many as possible. We already have a list from Mr O., one of our regular listeners in Hainesville...

Rock and Roll Revival is on hiatus on 07/16 and 07/23. We will be back on 07/23 with our feature "Just Monkeeing Around"

Tune in to Rock and Roll Revival on MOndays from 7pm - 10pm on WRLR 98.3 LP FM and on www.wrlr.fm.

- keep rockin' Rich

<description>06/22/07 - It's been a while since I wrote an update. As much as I would like to divulge why, at this time I will just say a lot has been going on behind the scenes that has demanded my attention. Don't worry, its not bad stuff, just things that I need to work on. It has not distracted me from the shows, so I am thankful for that...

Crystal, "The Wonder Dog", was once again a shivering ball of fur during the latest round of storms last night. At 75 lbs, she is too big to crawl under the bed, yet she mamaged to hide her nose under the couch during the booming storms (scaredy cat, er.. dog!...)

Sir Paul McCartney celebrated his 65th birthday on June 18th. Now he can sing "When I WAS 64"...

Tune in on 06/25 as we do our first "Motown Monday" featuring the great Motown artists of the 60s. I am sure you will find your favorites in the mix...

Upcoming Shows:

07/02 - Summer Spectacular, featuring songs by the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, the Ventures and many more. Plus some super giveaways.

07/09 - All Request - Start emailing your requests and dedications for All Request night. Don't be shy, this is your time to shine...

07/16 &#38; 07/23 - Rock and Roll Revival is on Hiatus

07/24 - Just Monkeeing Around (Guess who we are featuring on this show...)

More great shows are being cooked up for you. Stay tuned...

Rock and Roll Revival is broadcast on Monday Nights from 7PM - 10PM on 98.3 LP FM (WRLR) and live on the internet at www.wrlr.fm.

<description>06/03/07 - Back in the Saddle Again...

After a bit of R &#38; R in Northern Wisconsin over the Memorial Day weekend where we finally found very cool weather, but we also found the elusive Northern Pike, we returned to the great state of Illinois. Last night we took in the Ides show at the Streets of Round Lake Festival. A great job by the Ides who put on a great show and then did a meet and greet wth the fans immediately after the performance. "Rebel Girl" as an encore was a particularly nice treat! Kudos to the festival organizers who had some great entertainment come to the area.

WRLR was at the festival and we once again had the dunk tank on Friday and Saturday. I was at the fest early on Saturday sending drops from the fest to Chris in the studio. We even had a hula hoop contest for the kids (unfortunately, no adult takers, this time...). Emily from Lake Villa kept that hoop going the entire song and she won a super soaker from her friends at Rock and Roll Revival. We will be at the Round Lake Beach Fest in July hopefully doing the same (and I have a hoop so I can practice) and maybe a few more contests as well...

I guess Rock and Roll Revival is now international! We heard over the weekend that our interviews are being downloaded in Europe and the blog has had an amazing number of hits recently! Send us an email at rocknroll@wrlr.fm and let us know where you are from. We'd love to hear from you!...

And so now starts our summer flurry of shows here on the Revival, as we start out on this Monday, 06/04, with a theme that worked well about six months ago: "A thru Z" (where we run tunes from artists through the night alphabetically). This time we tried not to repeat any artists from last time, but we fell short on two letters. You'll have to tune in to hear!

On 06/11 our show will be titled: "Girls, Girls, Girls!" The featured artists of the evening will, of course be girls (there were a lot of girl groups in the early 60s!), but we will also have some "pre game" songs from the men which have the word "girl" or "girls" in the title.

On 06/18 our theme is "Travelin' Man" where the songs of the evening involve a destination or traveling.

On 06/25 our theme is "Motown Monday". Enough said!

And on 07/02 we once again have our "Summer Spectacular", which will be bigger and better than last year, featuring those great summer tunes you've come to know and love. ...And you know you'll get a very heavy dose of Beach Boys!

Great stuff coming up in the next few weeks. Summer is here and we are going to celebrate on Rock and Roll Revival, Monday nights from 7pm to 10pm on WRLR 98.3 LP FM and www.wrlr.fm.

"Hometown Boy Makes Good"...

You see it in the movies all the time. The local kid returns. He's now famous, a hero of sorts. He grabbed for the brass ring and he got it...

Well it happens in the rock and roll world, as well. And it happens in the Chicago/Illinois area! On Monday, May 21st we pay tribute to the Illinois artists who made a splash in rock and roll. The feature of the night will be an in depth interview with Jim Pererik and Larry Millas, founding members of The Ides of March, who will be appearing at Streets of Round Lake Festival on June 2nd.

So tune in from 7pm - 10 pm when we highlight Locals Who Made It Big, on Rock and Roll Revival.

05/18/07

The first interview with Jim Peterik broadcast on 05/14 will be available on our web page for download. We had some issues with the online stream, and we felt it only right that people interested who are out of our broadcast range be able to listen to the interview via download. More details will follow once it has been posted.

Future Shows:

05/28/07 - no show
06/04/07 - A thru Z
06/11/07 - Girls!, Girls!, Girls!
06/18/07 - Travelin' Man
