02/22/07 - Busy, busy busy...
When you think you will have enough time to get ahead of the game, it just seems you get further behind... If you had a chance to listen to our "Tribute to Long Lost Rockabilly Buddies, I hope you enjoyed it. A lot of those song hadn't seen the light of day for 45 years! It was a change of pace, to say the least, and those songs rocked!!!

This week's show is "A Beach Party in February". We all have those winter blues and blahs, as it seems winter hangs on for too long (unless you are a skier or ride a snowmobile...). So... why not have a beach party in February? Here's all you have to do...

1) Turn the heat up to 80 degrees or get a sun lamp

2) Dump 4,000lbs of sand in your basement

3) Fill up the wading pool

4) Inflate a few beach balls

5) Invite 200 of your closest friends over

6) Tune in to WRLR 98.3FM or www.wrlr.fm on Monday 02/26 from 7pm - 10pm and listen to the sounds of summer.

Ok... maybe 1 thru 5 are a stretch, but the music will definitely put you in that summer mood.

Upcoming shows:

03/05/07 - Rebroadcast of Birthday Tribute to Chuck Berry
(on last week's show I mistakenly thought the rebroadcast was the Tribute to 1969, sorry...
03/12/07 - The British Are Coming!
03/19/07 - Guitar Heroes
03/26/07 - Baseball Been Berry Berry Good To Me

If you want to be on our mailing list send an email to rocknroll@wrlr.fm You wont be solicited, but you will get up to date info on the show and advanced info on special events, giveaways, etc.

02/16/07 - Update
Many thanks to those of you who called in to our "Cheaper Than Flowers" show. "Love was in the air" as all the songs we played on 02/12 followed that theme.

For our show on 02/19/07, we have a special treat as we will be paying tribute to "Long Lost Rockabilly Buddies". It's no secret that I have a special place in my heart for the pioneers of early Rock and Roll, the rockabilly artists of the 50s. What a lot of people don't know, is that these artists also had a heavy influence on the future artists of the 60's, 70's and 80's (such as the Beatles, the Stones, Tom Petty, Brian Setzer and the Stray Cats) and were a BIG influence to the punk/new wave movement in the 80's. Unfortunately, current "oldies" stations seem to limit this genre to the "biggies": Elvis, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, etc. Here at the Rock and Roll Revival, we have dug down DEEP into the catalog to pull out tunes that probably haven't seen the airwaves in 45, and in some cases 50 years!

So tune in on Monday, February 19th, from 7pm - 10pm when we we'll dust off the old 45's, give you an education, and pay tribute to "Long Lost Rockabilly Buddies" on Rock and Roll Revival over the airwaves on 98.3FM and on the web at www.wrlr.fm.

Upcoming shows:

02/26/07 - Beach Party in February
03/05/07 - to be announced...
03/12/07 - The British Are Coming!
03/19/07 - Guitar Heroes
03/26/07 - Baseball Been Berry Berry Good To Me

02/11/07 - Cheaper than Flowers....

Love, Amore... What better way to say it than with a song...
On Monday February 12th, from 7pm - 10pm you can do just that...
Send an email to rocknroll@wrlr.fm or call the studio during the show (847-546-9757) and pick a song from the 60s or 70s (if I don't have it, I will use a reasonable substitiute), tell me what you want to say and who you want to say it to and I will mention it on the air (keep it clean). Then have your "loved one" listen to 98.3fm or www.wrlr.fm and hear the dedication. The reaction you will receive will be priceless and the best part is it doesn't cost you a dime! Cheaper than flowers! ...On Rock and Roll Revival 7pm - 10pm, Monday February 12th.

Upcoming shows:

02/19/07 - Tribute to Long Lost Rockabilly Buddies
